Only a few months after its Series A Round with Alven Capital and the acquisition of its competitor Boudoir Privé in the UK, JolieBox, which has developed a strong sustainable advantage in the Beauty Box sector thanks to its French roots, completes an important step of its international expansion with the acquisition of Glamourum, leader of the Beauty Box market in Spain.
The acquisition confirms JolieBox’s strong ambition to expand internationally. The Glamourum team, who has created strong ties with the best brands in the Iberian market, will leverage on the technology and organization developed in France to offer their subscribers the unique quality of service that defines JolieBox in France and the UK.
Founded in 2011, the young French startup has created a large community of passionate subscribers, who are fond of constantly discovering new products in France and abroad. JolieBox has successfully established solid trustworthy relationships with over 100 prestigious brands such as Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, L’Oreal, Laura Mercier, Caudalie, Payot, L’Occitane, Bourjois, Kiehl’s…
JolieBox, which masters the e-commerce subscription model, has experienced over 50% compound monthly growth rate since its launch. Today, tens of thousands of satisfied clients receive an elegant and immaculate beauty box every month containing 4 to 6 cosmetic products of high-end brands and a magazine dedicated to the universe of beauty.
“We are very happy to announce this new step in our international development, which comes to reinforce the great organic growth experienced these last few months in France and the UK. It is great news for JolieBox, but also for our partner brands which can now benefit from a truly integrated European network. The geographical expansion of JolieBox is at the heart of our strategy, we concentrate on large European countries and are planning to deploy in the short term our ‘Made in France’ beauty box offering in the American continent.”, explains Quentin Vacher, CEO of JolieBox. “We are very proud to join the adventure started by the French team and are convinced to have found in JolieBox the perfect partner to satisfy the thousands of clients we have. The quality of service offered by JolieBox to its partner brands in France will be extremely appreciated by our local and international partners.”, states Sergio Balcells, CEO of Glamourum. Lastly, this acquisition delights Alven Capital who has supported JolieBox for the past few months: “We believe very strongly in the fast international expansion being carried out by the excellent management team of JolieBox in the Beauty Box market. We have no doubt that the company will keep on developing rapidly in the Beauty Box sector and other verticals in the e-commerce subscription sector, which is currently booming in Europe and internationally.” notes Jeremy Uzan, Investment Director at Alven Capital.
