KelDoc, the medical appointment scheduling specialist, raises 700k€ from Alven Capital The high-growth startup adds Alven Capital and several business angels, specialized in the health and internet sectors, to its capital.

KelDoc has developed an internet service that allows users to easily find local doctors and dentists and make an appointment online. Patients have access to all relevant information concerning their doctor such as their tariffs, payment methods, check availability, and confirm an appointment online in a few clicks. The doctors who have subscribed to the service thus provide their patients with an innovative and convenient booking solution and also save valuable time otherwise spent every day taking appointments over the phone.

The service launched by KelDoc, the French leading player of this market, has been already adopted by numerous patients and doctors in France while millions of patients and thousands of doctors in the US and Asia have already switched to similar online booking solutions. « We have decided to focus initially on dentists located in large urban areas in France. We plan to quickly expand to other specialties and to other European cities.” say Eduardo Ronzano and Nicolas Douay, the two co-founders of the company. Only a few months after launch, KelDoc has raised its first round of $1m from Alven Capital together with a group of business angels, which are specialized in the health care and internet industries, including Gérard Leduc, founder of health care company Ethypharm and Oleg Tscheltzoff, founder of Fotolia. Jeremy Uzan, investor at Alven Capital explains: « We have been impressed by a strong management team, by the quality and maturity of their technical solution, and by the terrific market opportunity in France and in Europe for such an innovative solution.” He adds, “KelDoc’s service is already expanding rapidly among doctors and dentists in France and we are confident on the ability of the team to develop the service on a large scale.”

The company will use the funds to reinforce its sales and technical team in order to accelerate their expansion and increase the number of medical software solutions compatible with the KelDoc platform.
