Kaiko extends its Series B to $110M to build the data infrastructure for onchain capital markets

Kaiko, the institutional data and infrastructure provider for digital asset markets, has extended its Series B to $110 million through a strategic investment led by S&P Global.

The round brings together institutions from across the financial ecosystem, including BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Broadridge, Coinbase Ventures, Nasdaq Ventures, and Royal Bank of Canada, alongside existing shareholders.

Building the data layer for digital asset markets

Founded in 2014 and led by CEO Ambre Soubiran, Kaiko provides institutional-grade market data, analytics and indices across more than 150 exchanges and protocols.

Banks, asset managers, exchanges and other financial institutions use its infrastructure for trading, valuation, risk management and the development of regulated digital asset products.

From crypto market data to onchain financial infrastructure

As traditional financial instruments increasingly move onto blockchain infrastructure, Kaiko is expanding beyond crypto market data to build the infrastructure needed for onchain capital markets.

Its platform connects the two worlds: bringing traditional market data onchain for use by tokenized financial applications, while making blockchain activity accessible through the systems already used by financial institutions.

Over the past year, Kaiko has strengthened this position through the acquisitions of Cometh, a MiCA-regulated DeFi infrastructure provider, and Amberdata, a U.S. digital asset data company.

The company has also continued to bridge traditional and onchain finance through initiatives with Bloomberg and Broadridge, as well as the launch of the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices with S&P Dow Jones Indices.

A new chapter for Kaiko

The new funding will support Kaiko as it continues to build the regulated data infrastructure required for a new generation of onchain financial markets.

The investors in this strategic round work across the core functions of digital asset markets: pricing, trading, capital allocation, and blockchain development. They are backing both the company Kaiko has built [...] and our vision to provide the data infrastructure layer for onchain capital markets,” said Ambre Soubiran, CEO of Kaiko. “Together we will define how institutional money moves onchain.”

More than five years after Alven first partnered with Kaiko, the company continues to expand its original ambition: building the trusted data layer connecting traditional capital markets with an increasingly tokenized financial system.
