The mobile dating app company Happn has been sold to HelloGroup, a leading Asian dating and social app player, quoted on the NASDAQ, with 1,5 bn$ of turnover. 

Happn is the number 3 player in France with 16 million users, and has built leading positions in Europe, Latin America, notably Argentina and Brazil, India, and Turkey. Happn has overall 170 million users worlwide, and will accelerate its international growth within Hello Group, especially in Asia, Middle East and Africa where the buyer holds strong positions. 

In a mature and competitive environment, Happn has sgrenthened its differentiated positioning, and continued innovating in its “smart dating“ and social concept, building on its historical approach around localized authentic encounters. Management has also efficiently streamlined the company’s operations, trippling the profitability of the company since 2022.
