Skarlett, the marketplace dedicated to the financial needs of those over 60, today announces an €8 million seed funding round. The round is led by 115K, the VC fund of La Banque Postale, alongside Raise Seed for Good and Alven, which had led the pre-seed round in 2023.

The Skarlett Vision

In France, “seniors” represent 19 million people—almost a third of the population. This group has diverse financial situations and evolving needs: often modest pension incomes (around €1,500/month on average), but significant wealth, particularly in real estate (a combined €3 trillion in assets among the 60+), and under-optimized savings (around €1 trillion in available savings).
Skarlett aims to serve this under-targeted population with a full range of financial products that cover their financing, investment, and insurance needs.

Townley Le Guénédal, CEO of Skarlett:
“We want to bring simplicity, transparency, and negotiation power back into the hands of this generation. Retirement doesn’t make you invisible. People want to live fully, invest and protect their loved ones. Skarlett is here to help them do that.

A Marketplace 100% Designed for the 60+ Segment

Skarlett is a dedicated financial ecosystem for people aged 60 and over, offering:

  • Tailored Health Insurance
With healthcare expenses having risen 42% in the past decade for this age group, Skarlett helps users find the most suitable health insurance through a needs-based qualification process and an AI-powered comparison tool.
  • Financing Solutions Built for the 60+
Borrowing after 60 through mortgage loans, credit consolidation… or monetizing real estate assets without leaving their homes (through life annuity sales or reverse mortgage), to fund life projects, home improvements, or simply enhance everyday life. Skarlett specializes in senior-focused solutions, where traditional banks lack dedicated services.
  • Optimized Savings
Skarlett also offers simple, transparent, and competitive investment products—such as a senior-focused life insurance product in partnership with Generali, with entry fees as low as 1.49% (compared to a market average of 3%).

A seasoned Founding Team

Skarlett was founded by a trio of seasoned entrepreneurs, now joined by a team of 30:

  • Townley Le Guénédal, CEO, also co-founder of Operandi (a strategy and legal consulting firm with 40+ team members) and Innohealth (a MedTech SaaS company).
  • Benjamin Gaignault, Chief Growth Officer, co-founder of Ornikar (a driver’s ed and insurance platform with €170M raised, €100M in annual revenue, and a 300+ person team).
  • Aurélien Gouttefarde, Chief Operating Officer, co-founder of Homeloop (a pioneer in instant home sales, with over €200M in real estate transactions and a 40+ person team).

What’s Next for Skarlett

With this new funding, Skarlett aims to:

  • Launch its own tailor-made financial products (insurance, investments, etc.) specifically designed for the real needs of the 60+ population.
  • Improve the customer experience, leveraging AI to enhance satisfaction and deliver truly personalized recommendations.
  • Become the go-to brand for the 60+ generation to better manage their budget, grow their wealth, and fund their life projects.
